Lawyer Muhammad Abdullah Drai\u2019i, head of the Islamic Waqf Committee in Jaffa, confirmed that Muslims in the city have achieved a historic accomplishment in the Tasso cemetery case, after many years of follow-up and legal struggle.
\nDrai'i explained that the National Planning and Building Committee \u2013 the highest planning authority in the country \u2013 recently approved the deposit of the structural plan for the Tasso cemetery. This plan clearly stipulates that the entire 81-dunam area of \u200b\u200bthe cemetery is endowment land and an Islamic cemetery in every sense of the word.
\nHe added that this decision came after full support from the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality Engineer\u2019s Office and members of the Planning Committee in the National Committee, which, according to him, reflects an official consensus on establishing the historical rights of Muslims in the cemetery.
\nDrai\u2019i pointed out that approving the structural plan means, legally and practically, reclaiming the rights that were unjustly sold more than 40 years ago and returning them completely to the Muslims in Jaffa, considering this a \u201cdecisive step in protecting the cemetery and preserving its sanctity.\u201d.
\nAccording to the committee's decision issued on 21.10.2025, the final amendments will be completed in the near future in accordance with the recommendations of the National Committee in preparation for the final approval of the plan.
\nThe head of the Islamic Endowment Committee said: \u201cWhat the heedless lost yesterday, we have recovered today with the determination of the sincere, in fulfillment of our trust and in preservation of our religion, our identity, and the sanctity of our dead. It is the right of Muslims today to rejoice in this great achievement, which we consider a historical correction and a restoration of the right to its owners.\u201d.
\nHe concluded: \u201cAs you have come to expect from us, the Islamic Waqf will continue to keep the Muslim public in Jaffa informed of all developments and details until, God willing, the complete completion of this matter is announced soon, and the development and maintenance of the cemetery can begin.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
